The central Idaho dark sky reserve is a really incredible area. I remember a few years back I was camping in this part of the state (and no, I’m not telling you the exact spot. It’s special) and woke up in the middle of the night, to find that even though it was a new moon, I could see the ground illuminated by starlight. It was so. unbelievably. quiet. as well. This beautiful piece of music is a sonic tribute to that amazing moment and the beautiful countryside in Idaho I call home. Yes, it’s written for young band students, but hopefully you can sense a deep transcendence while listening to it.
