Dampen and Shine

The inspiration for this number came from an exciting run I went on through the Owyhee Mountains in December a few years ago. We experience an inversion in the valley I live in, so the lower half of the run was completely foggy. As I ascended in altitude, the fog dissipated, leaving a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside. As best I could, I wrote this fun excursion into a dramatic work for concert band.
