While the cheetah may claim the title of the world’s fastest sprinter, the pronghorn is unmatched in endurance, capable of sustaining speeds of around 35 miles per hour for miles at a time.
The opening and closing sections surge forward with relentless momentum, challenging the soloist with technical precision, quick articulation, and flowing musical lines. In contrast, the lyrical middle section offers a brief moment of reflection, evoking the quiet beauty of the high desert before the chase resumes.
